Oxy Quenchers Anti-oxidant Formula is a high potency, scientifically formulated and synergistic antioxidant formula. The name OXY-QUENCHERS refers to the commonly used term quencher which is often referred to in the scientific literature as a substance known for quenching of, de-activating the excitation of highly reactive molecules of oxygen. Also, for trapping certain organic free radicals.
Beta-Carotene is a non-toxic form of Vitamin A. Cysteine and Vitamin C are in its ideal 1 to 3 ratio. Cysteine, with the aid of L-Glutathione and Vitamin C, will be kept in its reduced (very soluble) form in the body and not be converted to Cystine. Sodium Selenite is a superior, 100% natural, hypoallergenic, yeast-free source of Selenium. There is less than 1/2 mg of sodium in 250 mcg of Sodium selenite therefore those on sodium (salt) restricted diets may use this form of Selenium.
Zinc is a major component of the anti-oxidant enzyme SOD (Superoxide Dismutase). SOD is not incorporated in this formula because of its high molecular weight and its inability to be absorbed into the bloodstream via the gastrointestinal tract.
