Duracarb is the first branched, long chain complex carbohydrate drink, and the first 'carbo-loading' drink with chromemate GTF chromium, to support blood sugar regulation. Most complex carbohydrate products consist of maltodextrins. Maltodextrins are short chains of sugar molecules. Maltodextrins usually break down into simple sugars and get into the bloodstream rapidly. This can cause a 'sugar high' triggering a surge of insulin, followed by an unpleasant 'sugar crash'.
