Car Sickness
What is Car Sickness ?
Basically, car sickness results from a conflict between the eye and ear: the inner ears detect that the car is moving, but the eyes (focused within the car) do not. The brain gets conflicting signals, and nausea results.
The brain gets an instant report from these different parts of your body and tries to put together a total picture about what you are doing just at that moment. But if any of the pieces of this picture don't match, you can get motion sickness.
Causes of Car Sickness
The symptoms of motion sickness appear when the central nervous system receives conflicting messages from the other four systems -- the inner ear, eyes, skin pressure receptors, and the muscle and joint sensory receptors.
Signs of Car Sickness
The symptoms of motion sickness include nausea, vomiting, and dizziness (vertigo). Other common signs are sweating and a general feeling of discomfort and not feeling well (malaise).
Diagnosis of Car Sickness
Look outside, If you're in a car, you might want to sit in the front seat and look at the distant scenery
Always sit facing forward. Don't face backward in your seat or sit in a seat that faces backward.
Find the place with the least amount of movement.
