Treatment
It is highly believed nowadays that uterine fibroids do not actually need any kind of treatment except watchful waiting, unless it is symptomatic.
For women with symptoms such as pelvic pain, could be treated with certain over-the-counter painkillers. But certain increased bothersome cases require stronger drugs through proper medical prescription.
The fibroids are actually oestrogen dependent which has led the physicians to treat it with the reduction in available oestrogen. This could be done through the hormone like agents used to counter the action of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). But these agents are found to be increasing the blood cholesterol level and reducing bone density\, ultimately leading to Osteoporosis.
