Causes
The causes can be the use of caffeine in any form like tea, coffee or chocolates. Breast tenderness can be a result of early pregnancy too. The tenderness in breast may be noticed every month. Excess production of prolactin can be a cause of breast tenderness as it is the hormone which is responsible for production of milk in breast. As the milk production is increased the area around it increases to support and provide the cells with nourishment. As a result the skin of the breast stretches and the pain is felt in the breast area because of tensed muscles. Fibrocystic breast disease can be a cause of breast tenderness too. Estrogen therapy is a major cause of breast tenderness and can be noted as a side effect of it. Use of tranquilizers and some other medication can be a cause of breast tenderness. Fibrocystic changes can also result in breast tenderness. It can also be a part of the premenstrual syndrome. Breast pain can also be a part of adolescent in males and females as a development process. Normal hormonal changes can also result in breast tenderness.
